It is basically a last car standing mode. As you can imagine, Drift mode is about performing some incredible drifts, while Elimination mode pits players against each other in destruction, with players dropping out. The fan-requested mode of the drift mode is going to make an appearance at launch, along with Elimination mode. I'm playing the trial version and making some decent progress. They've done a reasonable job with the configurability of the steering and forced feedback inputs to allow for that. GRID Legends definitely allows for more simulation feel. It felt more like I had to use demolition derby tactics to compete. I got tired of GRID on the XBox One X within a few hours. It had enough of the simulation elements to its handling that kept me interested long term. The only GRID I really enjoyed to some degree was GRID Autosport on the PC.
I will end out purchasing later this week when it officially releases and have available in my library. I am really liking this so far, not as difficult as the regular Forza, but more realistic than I think the last GRID. While I am learning the tracks I still have the racing line on. I like the points buildup, reminds me more so of Project Gotham? was that what that old Xbox racer was called? Versus the points system of per say Forza. The damage model so far hasn't been extreme and I am an aggressive racer. The racing is great, I went up to the 2nd to highest difficulty where the AI makes mistakes. I still do auto shift because my old brain can't process shifting and passing, actually it never has, but at 50 I got more of an excuse now. I turned all the assists off and the handling felt even better with the assists off.

So far I have played about an hour of the full game and I am really impressed with the controller handling. The story played out, and I was happy to go along with it because of how well it was integrated and how quickly the information was relayed to me.
